She nurtures her children and protects them fiercely. Do not cross her children. It will be a hard lesson to learn. Although her waters flow beautifully, she can cause terrible floods or even droughts when her fiery temper is provoked. Osun blesses the poor and needy. Her compassion and purity draws patrons globally. Orisha is also invoked on behalf of those dealing with infertility. She causes lovers to reconcile and unites them in peace. Saturday is Orisha Osun's day of the week. Her feast day is September 8th. Her annual festival, Osun-Osogbo is one of the largest festivals globally. Many travel to her Sacred Grove to celebrate and honor her during this joyous occasion.
