Orisha Obatala is the second in command to the Creator, Olodumare. He is very powerful and is the oldest among all the Orishas. When working with Obatala at his altar or shrine, making offerings, and honoring him in ceremony small or large, we focus on cleanliness and good character. Many prayers have been answered through Obatala as he grants many of the needs that we seek through Olodumare. Sunday is his day of reverence but September 24th is Obatala's designated worship/feast day designated by IFA. Offerings and appeasements on Obatala's day has grown to become a powerful community ceremony with various results among participants. You will certainly see the differences in your life.
